Introducing........ the HeartStones..." a word to the spirit, a lift for the day."
Ever have one of those days when your spirit just SAGS? Yeah, we all do from time to time. Did you ever notice what it takes to pull you up from there? Let me tell you a story....... Some time back I was on the phone with someone who was REALLY down. As we talked and shared thoughts, spirits began to lift. By the end of the phone call, the mood was ever so much better. It made me think about how simple it is, sometimes, to help each other feel better. Often it's just listening; sometimes, it's a comment that turns the thinking around to something more positive.
My thoughts then turned to the fact that there are many people who don't have anyone to help them make that turn of thought to something better, or don't have someone there WHEN they need them. There has to be some way to help that happen, I thought.
I tucked the thought back into the quiet spot in my mind and moved on with daily life. In that quiet place an idea began to grow and then bloomed full force. Being of a spiritual bent, I like to believe the idea was "given to me" to complete.
It had to be simple and quick. It had to be portable. It had to be uplifting.
Three years later, the HeartStones were designed, copyrighted, tested by a varied group of willing participants and introduced into the world. Friends have supported them, helped sew bags, sand the Stones, spread the word.
All those friends are part of the love and compassion sent out into the world through the HeartStones.
The HeartStones consist of 21 ceramic stones, similar in shape to many rune stones, with original symbols impressed in them and enhanced with stain. They are totally handmade using stoneware clay and fired in a kiln. They come in a handmade muslin bag which is hand-printed with another design. A small book is tucked in the pocket of the bag. The user draws a Stone and looks the symbol up in the small book to read the message of the Stone. The messages will most likely feel familiar. We KNOW these things, but sometimes we just need to be reminded.
There are no negative messages - it's all about feeling better. They are not runes or a fortune-telling device. They are, as the message in their package says... "a word to the spirit, a lift for the day." Some folks draw one each morning as a means of focus and thought for the day. Some use them when they are in need of a word, a lift or help with a decision. Some use them as a counseling tool or in healing practices. There are no rules for using them - pick one, pick several. Pick till you hear what you NEED to hear.
